And though I bestow all my goods to feed the poor . . . and have not charity [love], it profiteth me nothing.
1 Corinthians 13:3
If God’s love is not the indwelling, motivating force behind everything you do - no matter how benevolent your actions - you might just as well stay at home and do nothing. Love makes us act with the right motive - a godly care for others, for the glory of God. Nothing else matters or will bring a reward.
